CTI (Dr. Kovács) joined Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP), a global allience network to enhance the science, policy and practice of ecosystem services for conservation and sustainable development. EPS encompasses working groups focusing on various scientific, policy and practical aspects of ecosystems and ecosystem services. Working Group 16, which focuses on financing the improvement of ecosystem services is of particular importance for CTI. Payments for Environmental Services is the umbrella concept for investment project schemes targeting environmental improvements: conservation and development projects. CTI’s Ecosystem Finance Scheme is a PES-like mechanism to engage private capital in investing in the environment. Please, find further information on ESP here .
